How you design the speed gear setup really affects how well the power gets passed on, and we usually use these curved tooth shapes. These tooth shapes help the gears fit together more easily, make the speed ratio just right, and cut down on power getting lost when it's being passed from one gear to another. Different kinds of motorcycles have different numbers of gear sets. Regular bikes you use for getting around usually have 4 to 5 sets of gears. Sport bikes might have 6 to 7 sets so they can change speeds over a bigger range. Most gears are made from really strong alloy steel and go through treatments like hardening. This makes the gears tougher against wearing out and able to hold more weight, making sure they work steadily for a long time even when they're being used really hard.

The gear shift lever has a simple structure, mainly composed of a metal rod and a foot pedal. The pedal surface is equipped with anti slip patterns to prevent the driver from slipping during operation. The shift lever is connected to the internal shift shaft of the transmission through a pin or connecting rod, and the spring installed at the connection can automatically reset after operation, preparing for the next shift. According to the operating mode, the motorcycle gear lever can be divided into cycle gear and international gear. Cycle mode supports continuous cycle shifting; International gear has a clear gear sequence, with neutral gear located between 1st and 2nd gear, which can effectively avoid the risk of misoperation.

The shift fork is made of high-quality steel forging, which combines high strength and high toughness. The "fork" shaped structural design allows its fork mouth to accurately match the gear ring groove, pushing the gear to slide through precise movement. Due to each shift fork corresponding to a set of gear switching, the number of transmission gear sets and the number of shift forks remain consistent. The motorcycle fork and fork shaft adopt a clearance fit to ensure smooth movement while reducing component wear. In addition, the positioning groove on the fork shaft works in conjunction with the positioning pin to achieve gear locking after shifting, preventing the gear from changing on its own.

Both are of stepped shaft structure, and the diameter of each shaft segment is customized according to the gear size and stress situation to ensure overall strength balance. The two ends of the shaft get mounted on the motorcycle's transmission case using needle roller bearings or ball bearings. This setup cuts down on rotational friction and boosts how well the power gets transmitted. The main and secondary shafts are lined up side by side to make sure the gears fit together right. And there's a key slot or splines cut into the shaft that securely holds the speed-changing gear in place, so it doesn't slip during power transfer.
